FORTRESSES PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY ARTIST DEVELOPMENT (FPCAD) is a Creative Consulting and Music Publishing firm based in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Founded in 2014, FPCAD began as a collective of musicians who began rehearsing in The Moton Community House and Theatre in Downtown Newport News. FPCAD works with businesses and local governments to enhance the quality of life in the region through interactive and informative programming. The personnel of FORTRESSES have years of experience in creating and teaching their respective crafts.
FPCAD produces and operates FORTRESSES; a live, instrumental band directed by Zachary Hines, II focusing on playing original Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro-beat, and Hip Hop compositions. The group collaborates with many artists and local organizations, including, Capture The World, VB Flea, ViBe Creative District, Contemporary Arts Network, Norfolk Neon District, The Norva Theatre, The Hippodrome Theatre, Smartmouth Brewery, The Chrysler Museum, Ferguson Center, The American Theatre, Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, The Air & Space Museum, Urban League, City of Newport News, City of Norfolk, and many more.
